Flute Program

The Flute Program is designed for flute students studying in all Suzuki Books and includes a mixed level group class. Students will use shared literature to build technique, ensemble, and musicianship skills. The day will begin at 8am and classes conclude with a Final Concert from 2:15-3:00pm.

Students who can enroll in this program include: 

FLUTE students in all Suzuki Books

Schedule will Include: 

      • Flute Group Class with Ms. Mary Shemon
      • Dalcroze Class with Dr. Jeremy Chesman
      • Masterclass lessons in small groups of 3-4 students
      • Choice of enrichment activity
      • Final Concert (2:15-3:00pm in Grant Recital Hall)
      • Short concert by the UMKC Graduate String Quartet in Grant Hall Atrium as you exit for lunch
      • Parent-Teacher Talk with Dr. Laurie Scott titled "Creating a Self-Sustaining Musical Environment" 

    Flute Program Workshop Cost: 

     Registration  Cost 
     Early Bird (until Friday, Jan 31st) $70
     Standard (until classes are full) $80



    Advanced Preparation:

    Your child will play a piece (or excerpt) at their masterclass lesson. This is often the student's current polished piece. Talk with your child's teacher to prepare for this experience.
